Ruth Rasmussen
Ruth is one of the girls in attendance at Center Path Institute. She is an incredibly relaxed and calm individual, and would be best described with terms like 'chill'. She is hybridized, but it has affected her minimally: she has two deep grooves in her face--the so-called 'face lines' of someone who is hybridized--which extend from the outer corners of her mouth to the outer corners of her eyes. Her hair is a light blonde color, and is very, very shaggy; she presumably spends no time at all styling it, which makes sense given how decisively masculine she is. It's not that she's exactly a 'tomboy', but it's like she's masculine in a different way, as inexplicable as it may be. She has a stocky, short build, reminiscent of a draught animal, and she is rather heavy-set. Although it doesn't appear so, she is notably strong and powerful and she likely hides dense musculature beneath her fat. She has stubby, square, wide hands; though, in spite of one's imagination when they think of such strong-looking hands, they are not rough but soft.
As explained previously, Ruth is a pretty manly girl. It almost feels improper to call her a girl without appending a myriad-number of disclaimers in order to properly emphasize her innate and unabashed masculinity. She dresses almost exclusively in mens athletic shorts and either huge sweatshirts, big baggy t-shirts, or tank tops. It is unlikely that she has ever worn make-up or styled her hair in a feminine way, or shaved even once. Her method of speaking is subdued and calmed, and when she gets excited, it hastens and gains some amount of volume; she often loses her train-of-thought and her conversation wanders into odd territories without realizing it. Ruth is very open-minded and does not seem to feel that she is under the yoke of most societal norms, which is admirable, insofar as she does not accidentally provoke discomfort by extolling how freeing nudity is without keeping her audience in mind.
At the present time, Ruth resides in the CPI East Building, on the third floor. During the summer, unless she has some other thing to do at the school campus, she moves back home with her family in downtown Burncastle. Ruth is almost never found without Mallory close by her side, as the latter often relies on the former's sturdy, calming presence like a security blanket that can hug her back. It almost makes a person jealous. Ruth has also come to befriend Zoey in recent time, I believe. I do not think she likes Audrey, but I think Ivy drags Audrey along to go hang out with Ruth. She likes Helen, which is good.
Her birthday is December 13th.
