Mallory Rayne

A long-time student at Center Path Institute. Unlike most people, she's been at the campus for at least half a decade if not longer, as far as I've heard. Since she was a little girl, I'd imagine. It's not unreasonable to assume that she comes from some unimaginably fucked up home situation, and that she got turned over to the campus as what might as well be a ward of the state. The school, as I have observed, hardly ever takes anyone under the age of 16. It goes out of their way, even, to deny enrollment to those under 16. So, given that Mallory has been here since she was around 12 or something is kind of profound.

On top of the circumstances that brought her here, Mallory is also a hybrid. It's not like most hybrids where they just have the face lines or maybe their eyes look funny; Mallory has no hair on her head at all, and probably nowhere else too but I'm not going to ask; she is unusually tall, over 6 feet tall if I had to guess, and she's very skinny. Moreover, she has no visible ears, no nose, and has insanely massive eyes that are like those of a seal or a sea lion. Pinnipeds, by the way, are predators. Hint-hint. I'm insinuating that, even if she looks cute, she has a hidden, more dangerous side or something. I don't really have any reason to believe this other than confirming my own biases and my own wishes--it would be fitting for her, and satisfying to me, if she was secretly evil.

Mallory's personality gives the same, perfectly identical impression as a stray piece of paper flapping about in the wind, rolling down the road. Or maybe a flag. Both of them, blown around in the wind, never to stay in one place for very long. It's difficult to get a grasp on her. I have no problem approaching her and trying to talk to her, but she is hellbent on staying radio silent whenever I try to get a response from her. But, like I said--she's like a pinniped, a seal. A predator. I don't think she's being quiet because I'm scaring her, I'm convinced she's shutting up because she's keeping me out. Which, of course, makes her a very engaging person for me. I'm the type of person who likes to split people open like a watermelon on a hot summer day.

The easiest way to find Mallory is to find Ruth. Unless Mallory's by herself, which she usually is, then she's with Ruth. I think she's codependent on her and needs her around, or maybe they're friends-with-benefits--sorry, that was rude. Either way, if she's not with Ruth, then you are absolutely never finding her. I swear to God that I have seen her running around the abandoned factories or elsewhere around Burncastle. She is not as she seems.

Not complaining, though.
