Old Factory District
A perfect location to get totally lost in. If you sought to disappear for a time, and never be found, you go here. Of course, you cannot get very far without some level of skill or capability in acrobatics and climbing. It's a series of massive, hulking skeletons that once housed factory machines and their workers. It may have been the case that, like the shipping district, it was a machine to process corpses into capital. The corpses have since vacated the premises, leaving behind no ghosts. It is pure now. It is pure and quiet here. From time-to-time, you might see a few hooligans coming by, seeking to tag the expansive, broad canvases that the concrete retaining walls offer, but nobody ever really comes up beyond the first or second floor. There are, on average, six floors to each one of the manufacturing-centric factory buildings, and there are less than a dozen of these buildings. There are also office buildings scattered around the area, close to the factories, but they are far more dilapidated and ruined than the factory behemoths and are not quite good for exploration and haunting. They might be suitable for building small personal areas.
Each one of the factories, for whatever reason, are interconnected by large metal skybridges that go between them. These skybridges are in surprisingly good condition, given their age and lack of repair. Underground chambers beneath the factories and the concrete lots also tend to interlink with one another, usually by air vents if not by hallways outright, permitting yet another method of egress between the shells. The smell around the area, but especially inside of any of the buildings, is very, very unusual: it's not quite the scent of mildew and mold, but there's the faint smell like a closet. Like old, stagnant clothes, or plastic. One of the factory buildings has a direct access to-and-from the swamps through a massive drainage pipe; this pipe is just one of many in a smaller network, but it is by far the largest.
I have not dared to conduct such a foray myself, for fear of starvation or becoming lost, but there are pipes that lead into unmarked concrete rooms that are not present on any map or floorplan. One day, I will find a way to return, and make one of them my own. The secrets of the world will not elude me.
