The old factory district--or the industrial park--is one of Burncastle's most iconic features by far. It's an entire mess of factories occupying a section of the land almost the same size as the town itself. At some point, long ago, the factory district was actually one of the country's biggest economic sectors, as it had the fortunate luck to be one of the world's first leading manufacturers of a few different nasty chemicals. Now all that remains are its decrepit, collapsing skeletons.

The factories themselves are the favored haunt of many of Burncastle's ne'er-do-wells. Not the particularly fun kind of delinquent, mind you, but the kind of delinquent that has no future and no drive to do anything but occupy space, until their next rush of endorphins hits at least. There's a few 'secret' pathways in-and-out aside from the main access point from the bridge between it and the residential area next to it, or the shipping district main road. The main one is through the swamps, where a ton of the old run-off drainage pipes are big enough to fit a few people and go straight into the heart of the factories, skipping the outside area and parking lots entirely (if you can stand the smells). There's also a rumor that, underneath Burncastle, there was an old set of subway lines that went all around town before a lack of funding (which coincided with the death of the factories) killed the project; if this subway line exists, then it assuredly goes to the factory district. Workers must go to work.
