Burncastle Shipping Center

Burncastle's shipping district is the main home for its commercial activity, aside from the numerous small shops in its downtown area. Most of the unskilled laborers in the area serve as drivers for large commercial vehicles--freight trucks usually--for delivery companies or long-haul trucking services. Ironically, despite how critical Burncastle is for much of the through-traffic that passes from the larger north-to-south corridor in this area, none of the infrastructure or warehousing is owned by the town or by any of the residential families. The exact mechanism is unknown to me, but I believe it has something to do with certain megacorporations paying out a rental fee to the town in order to build and use the area for trucks and warehousing.

The warehouses themselves, by the way, are not all occupied or in use. Again, it's a kind of rental area: the companies that regularly use their warehouses are mainstays in the district, but it's often the case that some corporations only use a given warehouse seasonally, when they're moving products through the town. This isn't even mentioning the former companies that made up the Industrial Park, which ostensibly served as the precursor to the shipping district, but I digress. The abandoned warehouses are often the favored haunts of groups of delinquent teenagers who want a hideout to abuse drugs and other vices.

A lot of the town drunks frequent a two-story rest stop. I can't remember its name, nor do I care to.
