Mallory Rayne

Mallory is one of the more well-known students at Center Path Institute for being one of the students who has a permanent residency in the campus' South Building, for having one of the longest residencies at the school, and also having a rather striking appearance. She is hybridized, and unlike many others around the town of Burncastle, its effects on her body are very, very profound. Mallory's build is very, very tall--around 200cm--and very, very spindly. She is very thin and skinny, and although there is no formal measurement to provide, her limbs seem longer in comparison to the rest of her body. She has no hair on her head at all; she has no nose and no ears; she has the hybrid face lines which run up from the outer corners of her mouth to the outer corners of her eyes. Speaking of her face lines, hers actually do permit her to open her jaw wider than most people and reveal a thin membranous film that, in being translucent, allows one to see into her mouth and look at her teeth. She may or may not have fangs. Her eyes are large and round, seal-like, and almost appear black in certain lighting or at certain angles.

Despite what some people would consider a frightening appearance, most (if not all) people who meet her find out that Mallory is actually a very gentle, very innocent soul. While one may be inclined to describe her at first as puppy-like in her mannerisms, it would be much more appropriate to call her cat-like: she is agile, nimble, and clear-headed, in spite of what often comes across as her being air-headed or doe-like. She has a penchant for getting into places she isn't supposed to be, much like a cat as well. She speaks with a significant stutter--not like the common conception or stereotype of a stutter, but rather that her sentences have almost a certain "drawl" to them, as if she fills empty space with the continuation of the preceding vowel. It nearly sounds like singing, or simply melodic speech. Her language skills seem to be a little lacking.

Mallory is somewhat hard to approach and is overly cautious. Again, to bring forth the image of a cat, she is avoidant and careful like one. Most people only ever befriend her by approaching her themselves, as she typically never goes out of her way to seek the company of others. It is fair to presume thereafter, then, that if she likes your company, she will return your extroversion in kind. Her closest, best friend is Ruth--the two of them are nearly inseparable, and Mallory is hardly ever seen without Ruth close by. She is fine with Helen, but seems to hold some kind of strange opinion of her that I haven't quite yet cracked. She detests Audrey, and is the only person whom I've seen Audrey avoid.

Her birthday is January 2nd.
