Shipping District

You know, I never really thought about it, but this isn't really a 'district'. It's just, like, an area. Okay, so Burncastle has a really big shipping industry. I'm talking about shit like, you know, delivery boxes and crap. Stuff you order from online. So, obviously, you gotta have a place to stuff all of this crap until you can get another trucker who can carry the freight away (if the other one can't do it for whatever reason), or a place to put stuff for when someone WANTS to order it and then it needs to get shipped. The town had these massive warehouses built to hold all of this junk, and now they make a pretty hefty penny by renting it out to these stores. It's a pretty sweet deal.

A lot of the townsfolk end up working in some way in his industry. It's not like there's much work elsewhere that doesn't either have you working a dead-end job in retail, or driving over 40 minutes away to the closest town and then 40 minutes back. It's more convenient and usually pays better just to work in shipping. Plus, all you need for the big freight trucks is a special license anyways, so a lot of the town drunks can get a fat paycheck and still be stupid. They used to clog all the roadways with their trucks, so the town had a giant bridge built over it to get them off the main civilian roadways. The traffic's pretty good, now, but now, like, there IS that massive bridge directly overhead a lot of the town...

Mallory likes to explore the empty, abandoned warehouses. She also REALLY likes to climb around the, like, support beam structures and trusses that hold the bridge up. Oh, yeah, there's a massive obnoxious bridge that goes out from here to downtown. Or, specifically, OVER downtown. Yeah. It's annoying. Anyways, like I was saying, Mallory likes to get lost in these spots. She likes getting into places she isn't supposed to be, so it helps her out that a few of these warehouses got rented out by companies that are, no joke, on the opposite end of the continent and never get used. They might as well be abandoned.
