Semyot
The Semyot peoples are the indigenous peoples local to the modern area of Burncastle. In the contemporary era, the Semyot people are few and far between: by the time an effort was made to conserve any of the old traditions or cultures of any indigenous peoples in this nation, the damage had already been done. However, the Semyot people were almost wholly hybridized, and a a result, it's easy to say that most of the hybridized individuals in this area are at least partially descended from them. The entire town, though, is a supercenter of hybridized people: in essentially 'growing up' next to the Semyot, the unhybridized were desensitized to them (even if only partially), and nowadays many hybridized individuals come to the town to attend at the Center Path Institute, which is an academy founded by the hybridized Constantine van der Gros with the intent of providing more direct support to hybridized people.
An observant reader may have noticed that the Semyot River and the Semyot High School both have the word 'Semyot' in their names. As is a time-honored tradition among rural townships, many things are named after the indigenous cultures that preceded them in the same areas.
